job description

With the support of the in-house engineering team, the Solar Construction Project Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Managing the safe, timely, and efficient execution of PV solar plant projects in various US locations;
  • Construction planning and scheduling;
  • Budget preparation, tracking, and reporting for construction projects;
  • Support project procurement including preparation of requests for proposal and contractor selection;
  • Negotiation and finalization of main contracts and technical exhibits in collaboration with the engineering and legal teams;
  • Contractor management and supervision during construction, installation and commissioning of the solar plants;
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce cost and minimize risk while meeting the budget;
  • Adherence to project schedules;
  • Administrative follow-up (construction insurance, budget, reporting to lenders, etc.)
  • Participating in feasibility studies as well as ad hoc improvements of operational sites
  • Completion of post-project analysis and transition of all documentation to CVE’s operations team.
  • Represent the company at meetings with project stakeholders and advocate for CVE's mission and values
  • Being an advocate for CVE’s mission and values and representing the company at meetings with project stakeholders.

    This role reports to CVE North America’s Technical Director. 

main requirements

  • You have a Bachelors degree in a related discipline (e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, construction management, etc.) with at least 3 years of experience as a project engineer or manager (preferably in the solar industry).
  • You are passionate about safety.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or similar project management software
  • Ability to commute to the NYC corporate office
  • Ability to travel regularly (including overnight) to construction sites located throughout the US.
  • Valid US driver license is required.
  • You are an active-listener with a flair for communication and negotiations.
  • You are convinced that renewable energy will play a major role in the future and you are an advocate of the transition to clean energy.
  • OSHA certification strongly preferred
  • PMP or equivalent is desired but not required.
